When choosing a handheld smart device, it seems everyone wants to choose between an Iphone or Blackberry. We have been torn trying to understand the differences but as a technology company have to get our hands into both!
We find the Iphone very slick and “fun” to use. It has many purposes: Music, Phone, Calendar, Email, Pictures and Internet Surfing. We find it really neat to surf the internet and the Google maps feature is great! I can’t tell you how many times I use that when lost and it even gives directions now with the new software release. GPS is very cool and the device really shows you how it’s all coming together. Some downsides are that it’s not terribly good at any other functionality. In addition some basic functions like “cut and paste” are not there that make it REALLY odd at times.
Blackberry has focused on doing one thing: Email. To all our experiences and thoughts we have to say it does it extremely well. With the Perl and Curve its starting to do other things more like surfing and photos and such, but it really is one of if not the best mobile email solution on the market.
Clearly the way of the mobile phone is the Iphone and the convergence of technologies is getting more and more interesting and exciting. For right now we think the choice is still with the user depending on their specific needs, but it does seem like its getting closer to having only one solution.
